About Valorant PC performance

Valorant is designed to run on modest hardware, but reaching a stable 144, 240, or 360 FPS is a different challenge from simply launching the game. At competitive settings the graphics card may have plenty of spare capacity while the processor, memory latency, or a single busy game thread controls the final frame rate.

The calculator is useful for comparing CPU and GPU combinations, but a competitive shooter should also be judged by frame-time stability and 1% lows. A system that averages 300 FPS but repeatedly drops below the monitor refresh rate can feel less consistent than a capped 240 FPS system with clean frame pacing.

Settings such as shadows, effects, anti-aliasing are the first places to test, but the limiting component should be confirmed with utilization and frame-time data.

Lower settings and a high refresh target tend to expose CPU and memory behavior, while higher resolutions and effects move more work to the GPU.
